that's sad.

Kirito • 1 year ago

Nah watching anime is much more fun it has magic powers than real life

tc • 1 year ago

I know. It is sad people always watch show expecting realism and logic when that is what google or wikipedia is for lmao. Its so cringe when some say oh so and so show is much better than something cause its so realistic (which is a lie cause nothing in shows is realistic as even most reality shows are scripted). Like seriously if people want realism find other entertainment to do. Play sports, take a walk, play video games, enjoy good food or travel rather than complain in front of the screen lol.

Thicc brows • 1 year ago

It's not that black and white. In order for the audience to actually care about obviously unrealistic fiction, it still needs to be believable and immersive, and to do that you need some level of realism. Every good anime even the most unrealistic ones have balanced levels of realism, you just don't realize it.

tc • 1 year ago

Because they want to pull people in and let them get into it so yes they will apply some realistic concepts to lure people in, but it doesn't make it realistic as its scripted and constructed like a replica or using creative ideas to showcase. A tv show makes something exciting to watch because they take something in life and elevate the enjoyment by creating a fun good scripted story or format with some changes, but it is still unrealistic because its scripted and fixed. So it comes down to if I like the story or not or whether I find it entertaining, not really about if its relatable or not . I will laugh, cry, get excited and find something interesting in particular scenes of the show, but will I say its relatable to real life or use it as example when discussing life with friends? Nope, because in the end its just a show and not really worth it to use it as a relatable tool.

hiruya • 1 year ago

literally its annoying seeing people complain about realism. if you want realism go watch real football/soccer

Veldora • 1 year ago

Yep. Anime sports shine with not much realism.

Zerg • 1 year ago

Meanwhile Haikyuu!!, Slam Dunk, Diamond no Ace exists. altho there is a sprinkle of unrealistic moments, these 3 are some of the most enjoyable sports anime of all time.

Top Militerian • 1 year ago

I also enjoy the realistic sports anime like you mentioned more than Kuroko no Basuke and other superpower sports anime. I still like them but they have some dumb moments too

Zerg • 1 year ago

Yeah, I think overall its much better to watch realistic sports anime coz it actually applies to real life sports and the author can't just do anything he likes just for plot convenience.

tc • 1 year ago

uh not quite. There are moves and plays in Haikyuu that are exaggerated and unrealistic in volleyball just like some players portrayed in Ao Ashi also has the same problem. In the end its just a replica with special effect.

Zerg • 1 year ago

That's why I mentioned there's some sprinkle of unrealistic moments, that quick attack of Hinata and kageyama is not something that someone could do nonchalantly. Still overall the show is very realistic and it actually values consistent improvements, the characters aren't just improving on the spot while they are playing in games, same with Ao Ashi, they don't just make the characters improve suddenly like how Saiyans improve in the middle of the battle. Characters from these series I mentioned actually trains and practices skills and tactics to improve.

If u haven't read BL, Isagi told Niko "u fail as a striker when he passed at the end" the author is very inconsistent in his own ideology that as the series moves on, the more the MC keeps on passing the ball and in the middle of the games without any prior training or practice, the characters in BL esp the MC just all of a sudden improve. As BL goes on, characters become more and more hypocrites and the author just keeps on writing such plot convenience for the MC that he doesn't care about the actual most egotistic characters to play, the more BL goes the more the writing becomes trash

Düölingöhhh Snorlax • 1 year ago

My stupid ass read BL as something else löl. I do need sleep TT_____TT

AnimatorME • 1 year ago

ok that’s just trash then
being inconsistent is the thing i hate the most

Kiyari Takarin • 1 year ago

Like didn't Isagi did the exact same thing against team X ? the passing i mean and now he is being a hyopocrite and tell Niko the exact insult the other dude told him? like i watched the episode and i immediatly thought that's odd tbh, he just contradicted himself two episodes later?

Zerg • 1 year ago

Yeah, Isagi is a hypocrite and as the story progresses, Isagi passes more and more like a MF which really showcases that Isagi is a huge hypocrite

tc • 1 year ago

What you are arguing here is character development and writing and not about realism. Yes Ao Ashi and Haikyuu has good development and writing, but it doesn't make it realistic at all because its scripted everything from dialogue to character design. If you look at Aoi's character in Ao Ashi he has this very '8th grade syndrome' personality and childish dialogue that no young players going pro will act like that normally in real life. Haikyuu is the same, passion of the sport becomes overexaggerated and some characters with the same "8th grade syndrome" or talk too much. The only one come close to a normal personality is Ushijima.

Zerg • 1 year ago

Ur calling Ashito as someone who has the 8th grade syndrome, meanwhile all the characters in BL is full of cringe ass 12 years old acting all edgy. Ashito isn't childish, he's just a completely honest character that's why he isn't afraid to voice his opinions, Ashito does his best and asks people to help him out, he lets go of his pride and even asks people that he doesn't get along with coz he knows that he can't do everything on his own and he has a lot to learn, that's what u call an actual professional mentality, the ability to speak for urself and to admit things that u can't do on ur own and ask help from others, Isagi on the other hand is just being pushed by plot convenience altho he sucks at everything, he can't dribble, he isn't physically strong, he isn't fast or even have the stamina, the plot just teleports him every single time to a position where he could score. This episode is the very evidence of how poorly written BL is, after the match, u can see them training together, Isagi is tired seating on the side after missing an open shot to the goal and can't keep up with everyone, but during the match at the last minute of the game, he was able to catch up to Niko and steal the ball and all of a sudden was able to position himself in front of the goal despite starting at the very end of their own court which is utter bullshit given that Gagamaru who just missed the volley with his header despite having agility as his main weapon running at full speed while Isagi is one of the slowest and having one of lowest stamina character in BL, not only did he outrun a guy who is much faster than him but he also started at a huge difference in starting point than Gagamaru, in the first place given how Niko is supposed to have an Eagle eye should have been able to see Isagi and he should have never passed the ball to Ohkawa, the plot just does everything for Isagi. U can't even say anything about Ao Ashi's plot, so u start insulting a character just coz u find him annoying lmao 😂😂

tc • 1 year ago

ok you are way off topic. I'm arguing about what defines 'realism' and you are stoving off to the writing of Blue Lock which is not my main argument. Yes Blue Lock is never realism to begin with and never has been and yes they also have the same "grade 8 syndrome problem', as for story that is another debate but its no what I am talking about. What you are saying is Ashito's character development which is another topic and I didn't say his plot is bad. I'm talking realism and people that defend so and so other is realistic is what is annoying . The dialogue presented and the way its acted is also not realistic cause its scripted drama and with some yelling at random times just like Hinata and yes the characters here in BL which is define as 'grade 8 syndrome' and overexaggerated which is presented in some shonen and few seinen characters. So I ain't wrong here. People are also wondering why Ao Ashi adaption didn't get as much attention when it came out, its because it lacks engagement execution like an executed action scene or the lure like Haikyuu screen writing has perfectly adapted to. You can argue about not everything is about action but the story, however action is part of the presentation in entertainment to hook people in. If one is going an adaption make it entertaining and not cutting back like a slide show. I rest my case.

Zerg • 1 year ago

Ur only talking about realism when everyone already knows that BL is not a realistic series, also Hinata is not just yelling random words, that's one of their signs whether to use an ordinary quick or that godly quick which is an actual realistic strategy. Also u act like BL is getting such a huge attention over Ao Ashi but BL is barely getting a bit more attention Ao Ashi and it already had a bigger overall international fanbase than Ao Ashi before both got their adaptation, also it is the fault of the production IG that Ao Ashi lacks in its animation, overall the story and character developments of Ao Ashi is much better than BL.

tc • 1 year ago

I didn't say BL was realistic, I am merely debunking your statement of Ao Ashi and Haikyuu as realism when its not. Some of the strategies are indeed real replicas, but in a high school tournament some moves are very unrealistic where you will see more in professional leagues after years of experience. Even for talented individuals, some of the plays are not really common in a high school volleyball championship. So its not realistic. The thing about Hinata is getting excited in random times or when nervous are exaggeration which is far from realism. As for Ao Ashi its the same thing for Ashito overexaggerated excitement flare ups. Also some of the coaches strategies like Fukuda are very vague and not detailed explained as well as sometimes his sloppy dress code, also some of the character background story is so unrealistic. ex/ Togashi was a bosozoku or motorcycle gang before and left to play football? WTF is this 1980 Japan smh.

Zerg • 1 year ago

Just the fact that u can't say anything about the story of Ao Ashi and just keeps on insulting the characters shows how u don't even have an argument but ur still trying to argue. I've also mentioned this multiple times that Ao Ashi and Haikyuu both have their own unrealistic moments, but still, the actual tactics and basics that are applied in both series actually exist and they are actually showcasing the value of these basic tactics, while BL just goes throw everything out the window and MC just learns everything in a single glance, which is utter BS, u've also mentioned that Fukuda's teachings are very vague, but that's exactly the point of his lessons, he doesn't give all the answers to the players and actually lets them finds out the answers themselves so that they can ingrain those teachings into themselves.

If we're just talking about character flaws then BL characters have way bigger flaws than Ao Ashi characters and I'm not just talking about their physical appearances, Isagi sucks at everything especially being a striker but excels being an MF altho he's dribbling also sucks but he's the MC of a series to grow the best striker in the world, Bachira which is also supposed to have a monster inside him is a huge Isagi simp from start to date, Kunigami wants to be a superhero which is childish af, Chigiri and Nagi are also another Isagi simps in a show that focuses on making the best striker, tons of simps wants to help Isagi rather than score the goals themselves. Another simp character is Rin who is upset that his big brother ignored him so he wants to beat him, and also Reo is Nagi simp. Literally except guys like Rin, Shidou, Barou and Raichi, everyone else wants to play other positions except the striker of the team which is the biggest flaw of BL when a show where the main objective is to raise the best striker, everyone else doesn't have the egotistical mentality to be the best striker, it's also the very same reason why Sae chose Shidou to be his striker coz he knows he actually have that egotistical mentality of a striker, but the author hates Shidou, so he doesn't play him in games coz he has all the skills of the best striker while also having the most egotistic mentality

tc • 1 year ago

Because I'm not talking about the story and you keep reverting back to it, I am talking about its just a tv show and no point on comparing with realism. Gosh its like talking to a brick wall. All it is confirm is you are so defensive of your own favs refusing to accept facts. If you don't like the show, then leave simple as that. All this argument on entertainment is wasted energy when you can be doing something with your life

strayfe • 1 year ago

The character drama in relatively realistic sports anime are also more compelling.

tc • 1 year ago

No it doesn't. If you want application to real life sports than go learn the actual sport by watching a real match or go to wikipedia or do research.
